Como chegar à Ponta de Campina
It is about 15 kilometres from the Tambaú hub, some 30 minutes by car. A ride-hailing app does the job and is cheap; there are also vans on the route.
It sits on the same stretch as Praia do Poço, just over a kilometre away, and Praia de Camboinha, two kilometres away.
Entenda a estrutura antes de ir
This is what causes the most frustration, and it is worth knowing beforehand: Ponta de Campina has no public beach hut with toilets and showers. Service on the sand comes from tour operators and beachfront bars, which charge for the use of a table and chairs — check the price on arrival, because it varies.
On weekdays outside high season there is no guarantee a vendor will come by either. If you plan to spend the day, either you take a table with an operator or you bring your own supplies.
When to go — and when not to
From September to December and February to March the mood is the draw: a quiet beach, better prices than the João Pessoa seafront and sea that is good for swimming.
January is another story. Recent reviews describe a packed beach, competition for somewhere to sit and difficulty renting a table and chairs. If your trip falls in January, go early or pick another beach along the stretch.
What to do there
Além do banho, a Ponta de Campina é ponto de windsurf e recebe caiaque e jet ski. Bares na orla servem comida regional, alguns com música ao vivo.
Boats also leave from here for Areia Vermelha island — although most catamarans depart from Camboinha.
